Emre Tura was born in 1990 in Istanbul, Turkey. He graduated in 2013 from the Painting Education Department at Marmara University. In 2015, he began his Master’s degree in the Painting Department at the same university, where he continues his graduate studies. He currently lives and works in his studio in Istanbul.

Artist Statement

In his works, Emre Tura expresses the human condition and its profound solitude through the organic presence of a single figure positioned among architectural structures. Stripped of detail, his spaces evoke notions of timelessness and infinity, inviting the viewer into a distant and contemplative universe.

Although the first impression suggests a minimalist approach, the underlying content reveals a richly layered sensibility. Rather than presenting a series of representations, the intention is to create a field of feeling. In contrast to the geometric severity of forms, the organic structure of the solitary figure does not signify scarcity as insufficiency; instead, it conveys the tension of the few against the many.
